Course Description

This course describes the practice of sport and performance psychology, and how key lessons from working with athletes and other high performers can be applied across clinical problems and populations. Performance psychology principles can help a wide range of clients be more successful at work, in relationships, and across other areas of performance. Participants will learn critical components to provide services to athletes and other high performers, including NCAA best practices, multicultural considerations, and building cohesion within groups. Specific case examples highlight the application of performance psychology principles with (1) a non-athlete, (2) an athlete, (3) an organization, and (4) an emphasis on mindfulness.
