There are a number of professional will templates available online, and having some kind of will is certainly better than having none at all. This course includes detailed information on what should go in that professional will -- and makes the case for why you need to have one. Even better, the course comes with a template you can use in your own practice. It includes several important sections that other templates typically leave out.
If you were in a car accident this weekend, what would happen to your clients on Monday morning? Would they show up to your office, waiting for you? How would they learn what happened, or when you might be back? None of us likes to think about the possibility of an unexpected illness or emergency, but they happen. A professional will can be the difference between a personal emergency and an emergency that also leads to client abandonment.
This course reviews the need for mental health professionals to have a professional will; ethical standards related to professional wills; necessary components of a professional will; and what to do once you've written your professional will.
